Welcome to your Grade 8 Humanities: Social
Studies and Language Arts classes! While you will receive separate
grades for Language Arts and Social Studies, the two subjects are
designed to enhance each other. We will be writing, reading,
speaking, mapping and researching to learn about Social Studies,
and will also coordinate these activities to help us in our study
of our English course. The theme of this year is globalization and
its effect on culture. I hope that in addition to learning new
things and developing as writers, thinkers and people, you will
also have fun this year.
