Miss Keyser's 2nd Grade Class

Welcome to grade two! I am so excited to have your child in my class.  My name is Amy Keyser and I am originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  I graduated from Messiah College in Harrisburg and have been living in Kenya for the past 4 years.  Rosebella Owino is my classroom assistant again this year!

  I am looking forward to an exciting and productive year with your child. Here is information to make a note of.

• Second grade classes start at 8:20 am and dismiss at 3:20 pm. Please note Wednesdays will end at 1:15.
•   We will follow a 5-day schedule - this means that special subjects will always be on the same day each week.
• The 2^nd grade classroom teachers are Leslie Currey (2C), Esmeralda da Conceicao (2D) and myself.  Our assistants are Edward Mutie in 2C, Annie George in 2D, and Rosebella Owino in 2K. We are looking forward to working together as a second grade team.

  Children will need the following items for school:

•   Classroom: Students need slippers or indoor shoes to wear in the classroom on muddy days. They should keep these shoes at school.  All parents should have received a copy of the Grade 2 supplies list.  If you did not receive a copy please pick one up from the elementary office.  We ask that you send in the supplies on the list by
•   NOTE:  We will collect all pencils and erasers that are sent in and put them out on the tables for all students to use so please don’t purchase special pencils or erasers that your child will be upset about others using.
• Hats and Sunscreen: All students need to bring a hat and a bottle of sunscreen to stay at school in their cubby.  Please label BOTH! If your child does not have a hat they are unable to participate in recess.
